#1.Shopgirl by Steve Martin:

Strange as it may sounds, Steve Martin is not only a brilliant actor but also a talented writer. His book Shopgirl is a short, beautiful prose and with its less than 200 pages is a great holiday reading.

#3. Coraline by Neil Gaiman:

This books is so great that it can be appreciated by both children and grown-up. Technically a children book, this reading is an absolute must have for every book lover. There is a movie based on the book but if you want to experience the whole story and get a bit of scared, read the book first.

#5. The Dead I Know by Scot Gardner:

This dark and mysterious book is definitely a refreshingly different read. Although some people think it is similar to another great book Six Feet Under, this one is unique. It is also perfect for people who do not have enough time to read but want to enjoy a quick and interesting plot.
