Summer came and so the warm months + the perfect time to fit more reading into your busy schedule. So, today I personally choose the most romantic novels you should definitely read in the chilly summer evenings.

#1. “Poppyseed Lemon Cake” by Cristina Campos:

Selected for one of the “Books at Berlinale” 2016 this novel is not the typical love story . The book is actually focused on far more serious topics such as adoption, adultery, various illnesses and lives of people working for “Doctors without Borders”. The plot takes place on the charming streets in Maiorka, Spain, in a small bakery in the town. So the serious issues are accompanied by the aroma of delicious bread and pastries, and served with lots of love, of course. Poppyseed Lemon Cake by Cristina Campos is a story for two sisters who find their way to each other after many years of separation. In this way, the novel also becomes a story of forgiveness, second chance and proof that it is never too late to fight for what you always wanted.

#2. “The Flatshare” by Beth O’Leary:

This is one of the best novels that have been recently published. Every book lover and romantic soul will fall in love with the story but even if you are not one of them, I would recommend you to take it with you during your summer holiday. The book is about two people – Tiffy Moore who needs a cheap flat and Leon Twomey who works nights and needs cash. They have a strange deal – to share an apartment, a bed but never be in a relationship. What makes their love story extremely sweet and sincere, is because it is born of kindness, concern and empathy for the weaknesses of the other.
